Milestones

The Hotel LADYs FIRST opened in 2001: a three-star hotel with 28 rooms and an integration initiative for women who suffer from mental or cognitive impairment. Initially conceived as a hotel exclusively by women for women, in late 2002 the establishment began offering accommodation for men as well.

In 2006 it won the Swiss Award for Business Ethics.

Hotel Marta opened in 2010. The two-star hotel pursues the same concept of integration as LADYs FIRST, but also provides other trainings and integration measures in cooperation with the Disability Insurance (IV).

In 2017, Josephine’s Guesthouse for Women celebrated its opening after comprehensive renovation. The women’s guesthouse offers 38 rooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom. The social mandate at this location does not concern the employees but its residential use: some of the rooms are reserved for women in crisis situations.

Since May of 2018, Sinn & Gewinn Hotels has also been managing the Pension Bienvenue in Lausanne. The 27 rooms of this modest women’s guesthouse provide affordable living space. Here, too, the social mandate lies in its residential use.

After 20 years of success, the Hotel LADYs FIRST was closed in October 2021 for renovation work/re-launch and reopened in spring 2022 under the name Alma Hotel.
